Vodafone has said that it will roll out Fourth Generation data services in Ireland by next summer.

Earlier this month, the country's mobile phone operators bought blocks of spectrum that were freed up by the switching-off of the old analogue TV signal.

Vodafone said that it secured the largest allocation of spectrum in the market - meaning it will be first to offer customers 4G.

Fergal Kelly, chief technology officer with Vodafone Ireland said that the new network will really benefit those who currently have limited 3G connectivity:
