A strong earthquake rocked northern Japan today, just a few weeks after a powerful tremor jolted the country killing 39 people and injuring thousands.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The magnitude-5.7 quake shook the country’s northernmost main island of Hokkaido at 11.03pm (2.03pm).
It was about 500 miles north of last month’s magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck rural Niigata prefecture.
