Cork City 2 Derry City 1

Liam Kearney hit a stoppage time winner as Cork came from behind to go second in the table.

Surprisingly Derry had the better of the first half with the breeze at their backs with Gary Beckett coming closest when shooting against a post on 37 minutes.

Denis Behan wasted Cork’s best opening when shooting wide having been put through by George O’Callaghan. Alan Murphy then put Derry in front with a textbook goal on 59 minutes.

Behan got City back into it when Colin O’Brien and Billy Woods combined for him to score on 85 minutes.

Kearney then smashed home his brilliant winner on 91 minutes.
