Strike action at Dublin Port has been suspended pending a full Labour Court hearing into the issues at the centre of the dispute.
Around 25 TEEU members have been on strike since earlier this week following the suspension of nine shore-based maintenance workers for refusing to operate on tug boats.
The Dublin Port Company says they are required to do so under an agreement reached last year, but their union says they are not properly trained for the work.
The strike action was set to escalate next week, when other unions at the port were planning to refuse to cross the TEEU pickets.
However, the two sides have now agreed to refer all issues involved in the dispute to the Labour Court.
The TEEU members have agreed to return to work, while the company has agreed to lift the suspension of the nine workers and to delay planned training initiatives on its tug boats.
