Hundreds of shoppers were evacuated from Ikea last night.

The north Dublin-based Swedish furniture store asked customers to abandon their shopping and leave the store, due to a 'technical fault'.

The incident was later declared a 'false alarm'.

Shoppers were treated to 'thank-you chocolates' after being allowed to re-enter the store and resume their shopping.
