Spanish cyclist Eloy Teruel (team Jamis-Hagens Berman) put in a good shift on the penultimate stage of the Tour of California on Saturday - so much so that he thought he had the stage won, taking his hands off the bars and raising his arms in jubilation as he crossed the finish line in Pasadena.
Unfortunately, as everybody else knew, there was still a lap to go.
Watch (through your fingers) as Teruel's joy turns to horror once he sees the peleton bearing down on him and realises his mistake…
Teruel eventually came 56th on the stage, which was won by Cannondale's Peter Sagan (Bradley Wiggins won the race).
