Second man due in court after Louth heroin seizure

A 43-year-old man is due in court in Newry this morning charged in connection with a €3m seizure of heroin in Co Louth on Friday.

The suspect was arrested as part of an international operation involving the Gardaí, the PSNI and Dutch police.

A 27-year-old man was charged in connection with the haul during a special court sitting in Navan yesterday, while a third man is being held by gardaí in west Dublin after his arrest under a warrant issued in Holland.

Another man detained in connection with the case has been released without charge pending instructions from the DPP.
