England striker Robbie Fowler marked his return from injury with a goal in Leeds United reserves‘ 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
Fowler has missed the start of the season after undergoing a surgery on a hip injury in August.
But after going behind to a first-half own goal by Shane Cansdell-Sheriff, Fowler headed the equaliser on 55 minutes to earn Roy Aitken‘s side a point.
Fowler was substituted after 68 minutes and is now in line for another run out in Monday’s reserve game against his former club Liverpool, also at Belle Vue, Wakefield.
Aitken told the club‘s official website, www.lufc.com: “The team responded positively and Robbie Fowler came through well.
“He took his goal in typical fashion and we can now expect him to get another game next Monday night against Liverpool.”
