Man quizzed in murder probe

A murder inquiry was launched tonight after a man was found with head injuries at a house.

A murder inquiry was launched tonight after a man was found with head injuries at a house.

The body of Glen Irvine, 38, was discovered in an alleyway at Lord Street in Belfast’s loyalist Mountpottinger area where he lived.

He had suffered severe head injuries.

One man was being questioned by officers called to the scene.

It is not clear how Mr Irvine died but it is understood detectives believe there could have been some sort of fight.

A spokeswoman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed the death was now being treated as murder.
