Clune secures Seanad seat

Fine Gael's Deirdre Clune has been announced as the first successful candidate elected to the Seanad.

Fine Gael's Deirdre Clune has been announced as the first successful candidate elected to the Seanad.

Counting has been continuing all day for the Educational and Cultural panel.

There are 122 candidates contesting 43 out of the 60 seats.

It is expected that the counting could continue for a number of days.
