The family of April Jones, who was abducted in Wales last night, have pleaded for the return of their 5-year-old daughter.

The family of April Jones, who was abducted in Wales last night, have pleaded for the return of their 5-year-old daughter.

Police are continuing to question a 46-year-old man who was arrested today on suspicion of abducting the little girl in the town of Machynlleth.

They have also seized a vehicle belonging to the suspect, who is from the Machynlleth area.

April was taken by a man in light coloured van while she was playing with friends - police have said that she did not appear to put up any resistance.

At a police conference this evening, Superintendant Reg Bevan, who is leading the investigation, read out this statement on behalf of April's family:
