West Ham boss Harry Redknapp has played down reports of Frederic Kanoute wishing to leave the club.
Kanoute was voted man of the match in the 1-1 draw with Charlton at The Valley, but was quoted saying he would have to leave the Hammers to further his career.
"He never said that," insisted Redknapp. "He said he would have a better chance of being picked for his country at another club.
"But a player couldn't be happier at a club than he is here. He's not going anywhere. He doesn't want to leave and we don't want to sell him."
Redknapp also paid tribute to midfield youngsters Joe Cole and Michael Carrick, adding: "They're outstanding talents.
"Michael is a great footballer. He's sees everything. He can play long and short. Joe is different player - he can open teams up with his skill."
