US employment rate grows by almost 100,000 fewer jobs than expected
There is worrying news for the US economic recovery today, with employment rising by much less than expected last month.
The May non-farm payroll grew by 54,000 according to latest government figures.
A rise of 150,000 had been forecast, after an increase of more than 230,000 in April.
