Coventry have signed Clive Clarke on a month’s loan from Sunderland.
Clarke, 26, has made four appearances for the Black Cats this term since completing a £400,000 (€597,000) move from West Ham in the summer, but has struggled to regain his place in Roy Keane’s side after suffering a hernia in August.
Micky Adams said: “Clive is an experienced campaigner in the Championship as well as tasting football at international level.
“We are in a position where we don’t have any fit full-backs available at the moment, so Clive will go straight into the plans and I have no doubt that he has all of the attributes to be successful during his time with us.”
Adams was forced into the move following injuries to Marcus Hall and David McNamee, while Stuart Giddings has not yet recovered from his persistent hamstring problems.
The only other left-back at the Ricoh Arena, Andrew Whing, has been loaned to Brighton and cannot be recalled.
