Britney Spears’ fall last week is going to cost her millions of pounds.

The singer needed emergency surgery to a knee after stumbling during a New York video shoot and the injury is so serious that she has now had to cancel her US concert tour.

“She’ll be wearing a hard brace for six weeks and will require at least two months of rehabilitation,” said a spokesman.

Her 2002 tour grossed £24m (€36m) and she was due to start a 36 city tour next week.

Spears’ knee gave out last week during a video shoot for her new single, Outrageous.

The 22-year-old was also forced to cancel two shows in March because of another problem with her knee.
