Irish President, Mary McAleese, is on route to Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, on the final leg of her ten-day diplomatic tour of Uganda and Kenya.
The President has spent the last two days in northern Kenya, visiting aid stations and schools that are run by Irish volunteers and missionaries.
She is expected to view the work being done by Irish aid workers in the slums of Nairobi today.
Mrs McAleese has spent much of her tour attempting to highlight the difficulties in Africa and she has repeatedly urged the developed nations to help the less developed countries to rid their nations of disease, hunger and poverty.
