Kat set for affair on Square return
EastEnders' Kat Moon will embark on an affair with a mystery man when she returns to Albert Square.
Actress Jessie Wallace reprises her role as the outspoken barmaid this week following a lengthy break and it has now been revealed her character will cheat on husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), though bosses are refusing to name her new partner.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Kat returns but she soon feels the spark has fizzled out with Alfie.
"She finds it hard to resist when someone else showers her with affection. Kat tries to call off her affair but she finds her mystery lover impossible to resist.
"Viewers will be left guessing who Kat's mystery man is."
Other cast members are being kept in the dark about the man's identity, but Ray Dixon, Michael Moon and all three Branning brothers, Max, Derek and Jack, are being linked to the storyline.
Jessie recently admitted she is pleased 'EastEnders' bosses are bringing back "feisty and funny" sides to Kat after the storylines she was involved in before her break were so bleak.
She said: "Before [my] break, I had the baby swap story and towards the end of last year, Kat was becoming very downtrodden. Now she's coming back fighting fit. It's almost like when Kat first arrived on screen in 2000. She's come back with those original feisty, tarty, funny and a bit cold sides to her. It's a new Kat."
