The UK's High Court today reserved judgment on a claim by Carlton and Granada that they gave no guarantee to cover the debts of their now-defunct joint venture ITV Digital.
The media giants are seeking a court declaration that they are not liable for £178.5m (€285m) being claimed against them by the Football League in respect of outstanding payments owed to
Nationwide League clubs under a broadcasting contract signed in June 2000. Mr Justice Langley’s judgment is expected on Friday or early next week.
