Police are hunting a burglar who threatened a woman with a screwdriver in south Belfast.

Police are hunting a burglar who threatened a woman with a screwdriver in south Belfast.

It happened at Lancefield Road on Saturday afternoon.

The man broke the front door lock and forced his way into the house but fled empty handed after being disturbed.

He is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, about 19-years-old, of slim build and with a swarthy complexion.

He spoke with an eastern European accent and was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark blue tracksuit top and a grey T-shirt.

Detective Constable Deirdre Mahony has appealed for anyone with information to contact officers at Musgrave on 101.
