Teenage hurler collapses, dies during Cork match

A post mortem is to be carried out today on the body of a 17-year-old hurler who collapsed and died during a match in Waterfall, Co Cork, yesterday evening.

A post mortem is to be carried out today on the body of a 17-year-old hurler who collapsed and died during a match in Waterfall, Co Cork, yesterday evening.

The teenager collapsed towards the end of the game between Ballinora and Kilmichael.

Two doctors who were attending the game made unsuccessful efforts to revive the youth before he was removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

The cause of his death is not yet known.
