Parents in the North have been flooding a special helpline set up following the revelation yesterday that the British authorities have lost the personal and financial details of child benefit recipients.

Around 250,000 families in the North have been affected by the loss.

The special information helpline in the North says it has received two days worth of calls in just two hours this morning.

The callers are seeking details on what they should do to prevent their details from being used fraudulently if they fall into the hands of criminals.
