Live Register figures fell slightly last month

The Central Statistics Office has reported a slight fall in the number of people on the Live Register in Ireland during the month of August.

The Central Statistics Office has reported a slight fall in the number of people on the Live Register in Ireland during the month of August.

The CSO said the numbers signing on increased by 506 last month, but when seasonally adjusted, the figures showed an overall drop of 900.

The CSO said the Live Register had increased by 12,390, or 7.1%, in the 12 months to the end of August.

This compares to an annual increase of 13,349, or 7.8%, in the year to the end of July.
