Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has proved an unlikely source of support for Amy Winehouse - and speaks to her every day to offer his advice.
The Babyshambles star, who himself is battling heroin addiction, has been helping the 'Back To Black' singer overcome her own drug problems, and the imprisonment of husband Blake Fielder-Civil earlier this month.
Doherty insists Winehouse is on the road to recovery.
"I speak to her nearly every day," he said. "She just wants her man back for Christmas. They are desperately in love.
"One good thing is that Blake has got clean since he has been in prison. It's been quite an awakening. Amy stopped doing everything since he went in. She realises how much they have to lose. They are going to lose each other if it carries on. Love, music and melody is the way forward."
Fielder-Civil, 25, is currently being held at London's Pentonville Prison after his arrest earlier this month.
