Man charged in connection with theft of boat

A man has been charged in connection with the theft of a boat worth in the region of €15,000.

A man has been charged in connection with the theft of a boat worth in the region of €15,000.

The man, in his 20s, was charged by gardaí in Drogheda and is due before a sitting of Dundalk District Court this morning.

The alarm was raised at approximately 4am this morning when local fishermen observed a boat drifting near to Drogheda Port. The boat was towed back to shore and the man apprehended.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Drogheda Garda Station.
