Survey reveals pressure of travel costs on Irish workers
Almost three-quarters of Irish workers find travelling to work too expensive, according to a survey by Peninsula Ireland.
The employment law consultancy firm found that 73% are feeling the pinch when it comes to forking out for buses, rail or motor costs.
As a result nearly 67% of employees said they have looked for work closer to home while more than half of those questioned have asked their employer for an increase in salary to cover the cost of commuting.
