Chelsea defender John Terry’s fiancée Toni Poole today gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, a spokesman for the couple said.
The babies were born at the Portland Hospital in London but the couple have yet to decide names.
The girl was born at 12.29pm weighing 3lb 9oz, and the boy was born at 12.37pm and weighed 5lb 7oz.
Chelsea captain Terry, 25, said: “The babies are well, Toni is doing well and we are both absolutely delighted.”
Terry, part of the England squad for the World Cup, was speaking from the hospital after returning from pre-tournament training in Portugal to be with 25-year-old Toni.
Last week, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard became a father for the second time when his partner Alex Curran gave birth to a daughter, Lexie.
