The annual inflation rate has remained unchanged in April.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office put the rate at 4.8%.
Consumer prices rose by 0.9% in April, the same rate of increase as April 2001.
This means the annual rate hasn’t changed.
The main factors influencing the monthly change were increases in motor and home insurance premiums and higher childcare costs.
Transport costs also rose.
