Epsom pair to appeal suspensions

Both Johnny Murtagh and Seb Sanders have decided to appeal against suspensions they incurred when riding at Epsom on Friday.

Murtagh was given a five-day ban (June 19-23) after being found guilty of careless riding aboard Frozen Fire in the Coronation Cup, meaning he would miss the final two days of Royal Ascot.

The Ballydoyle stable jockey is not contest the stewards' decision, merely the penalty, while Sanders will appeal against both.

He was found guilty of a similar offence for his winning ride on Seeking The Buck in the Investec Challenge and was banned for three days (June 21-23).

The appeal dates have yet to be arranged.
