Fiery forward Paul Galvin has been confirmed as the captain of the Kerry senior football team for the 2008 season.
Galvin, an All-Star in 2006, was officially handed the honour at a banquet in Killarney on Saturday night. He will take over as skipper from Declan O'Sullivan after divisional side Feale Rangers won the recent Kerry county final.
A school teacher by profession, the 28-year-old is also an accomplished hurler and was a member of the Lixnaw side that won the Kerry county title this year.
The Kingdom will be gunning for an All-Ireland SFC three-in-a-row next summer after wins in 2006 and 2007.
Galvin was part of those winning panels and won his first All-Ireland with Kerry in 2004.
