Jodie Kidd "shot at" during break-in at family home

Supermodel Jodie Kidd has escaped injury after a burglar reportedly fired shots at her and her boyfriend during a break-in at her family home in Barbados.

Kidd was awakened by the intruder who'd made his way into her bedroom in the 18th century home.

Along with her boyfriend Tarquin Southwell they chased the man, who then turned and fire shots at the pair.

The luxurious ten-bedroom Holders House where Kidd grew up is set in six acres four miles from the capital Bridgetown, says The Sun.

The Kidds rent the house to clients for up to £4,800 (€7,200) a week when they are away. Friends say Kidd and her boyfriend were visiting Barbados to play polo and stay with her family.

They alerted police moments after the break-in and attended an identity parade on Tuesday - but failed to spot the intruder.

Bridgetown Police said: "There was an incident at Holders House in the early hours of March 1 with an intruder who was disturbed by residents. Nothing was taken from the house."

A spokeswoman for Jodie's agency ICM Models said: "It's not a very nice thing. Jodie and Tarquin just want to put it behind them. They don't want to comment about it."
