Female housemates vie for Big Brother arrival's affections

Big Brother’s latest arrival settled into life in the goldfish bowl today with female housemates seemingly jockeying for his affections.

Stuart, a 25-year-old gym-obsessed property developer, entered the house last night, replacing Alexandra who was booted off the show due to unacceptable behaviour.

His appearance was met with suspicion by some of the established housemates who believe he could be a plant by Big Brother.

However, the women in the house proved more welcoming, with Sylvia sharing a bath then sheets with the new arrival before returning to her own bed.

During a chat over the washing-up today, Mohamed accused the 21-year-old student of fancying Stuart, a charge she denied.

However, her obvious affection for Stuart prompted speculation from others that the pair had a past.

“I’m very worried about Sylvia,” Kathreya announced during a conversation on the sofas. Rex replied: “I think that is her boyfriend”.

Sylvia may have competition. Twenty-one year old model Jennifer also declared herself “interested” in Stuart.

Day 17 saw the housemates clean up their act, with a tidying task.

In a twist Big Brother piped music into the house during the task. Unfortunately the track chosen to be played on loop was Bonnie Tyler’s 1983 rock ballad 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. Last week Rex, Dennis, Sylvia, Rebecca and Alex were forced to sing the song repeatedly as part of an endurance karaoke task.
