Four arrested after €650,000 Carlow drug seizure

Four men have been arrested following a drug seizure in Carlow town last night.

Four men have been arrested following a drug seizure in Carlow town last night.

Cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €650,000 was discovered, when gardaí stopped and searched a number of vehicles in a yard on the outskirts of the town at around 7.30pm.

It is understood around €20,000 in cash was also seized, along with two cars and two vans.

The four men - two in their 30s, one in his 20s and one in his 50s - were arrested at the scene.

They are currently being questioned at Carlow and Thomastown garda stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
