President McAleese sends letter of support to Ardoyne

The President Mary McAleese has sent a letter of support to the people of the Ardoyne involved in the Holy Cross Primary School standoff.

The President Mary McAleese has sent a letter of support to the people of the Ardoyne involved in the Holy Cross Primary School standoff.

Chairman of the school’s board of governors, Fr Aidan Troy read part of the letter to churchgoers today.

In the letter, President McAleese said her thoughts were with all of those attempting to resolve the dispute - both Catholic and Protestant.

The President herself is originally from the Ardoyne area.
