Today's ERC board meeting has broken up without any further headway on the future of the Heineken Cup.
The key stakeholders of the tournament met today in Dublin to discuss yesterday's announcement by the top English and French clubs that they will form a break-away competition if they cannot win concessions on television revenue and qualification structures.
The ERC said that all parties re-affirmed their commitment to the future of the Heineken Cup at today's meeting and added that further negotiations will be held as soon as possible.
The Board also reiterated that European club competitions must have the approval both of the IRB, and of the relevant unions who are all shareholders of ERC.
