Woman dies after beach buggy accident in Co Mayo

A woman has died after an accident on a beach in Co. Mayo yesterday.

A woman has died after an accident on a beach in Co. Mayo yesterday.

The incident occurred at Lacken Strand when a male and a female were on a beach buggy, at about 2.30pm yesterday afternoon.

They were both taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.

The woman died yesterday evening and the male is in a serious condition.

The woman's name or details have not yet been released by Gardaí but it is believed she is from the locality.

Gardaí are investigating the cause of the accident.
