England goalkeeper David Seaman insists he has no plans to retire from international football.
The 39-year-old Arsenal stopper has been under fire since his mistake allowed Artim Sakiri to open the scoring as Macedonia claimed a 2-2 draw in a Euro 2004 qualifier at Southampton last month.
Seaman’s blunder came on only his second England appearance since he was embarrassed by Brazil’s Ronaldinho in the World Cup quarter-final defeat in Japan.
But Seaman has shot down suggestions that his is ready to quit, telling the BBC: “No way. I am not tempted at all. That is the way I feel.
“Things like that don’t bother me that much to make a decision like that.
“Everybody says you always know when the time is right. Hopefully that time is a long, long way away – who knows?”
Seaman, who has now won 75 caps, has also been criticised after some recent club performances but he insists it does not bother him.
He added: “All I can do is just get on with it and play my game. It is not the end of the world. When I finish football I go home to a happy family.”
