Irish businesses remain positive about their future, despite fears of an economic recession in the US, according to a survey by IIB Bank.
The study has found that companies in Ireland are experiencing a slowdown in growth, but not a slump in activity.
It also reveals that job creation is still outstripping job losses, but the increasing cost of running a business remains a cause for concern.
IIB chief economist Austin Hughes said the situation differs depending on the sector, with construction being badly hit while other areas are doing quite well.
