The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he hopes to publish the interim report of the Fennelly Commission today.
The report deals with the taping of phone calls in Garda stations.
Yesterday the Cabinet granted an extension to the inquiry to complete its work after the Commission expressed concern at the sheer volume of work in relation to the tapes.
The investigation has been given until September 2016 to finish its work.
Concern has been expressed by Justice Nial Fennelly, that the volume of the taped conversations have made it impossible to issue an early report.
