Brad Pitt is interested in taking the role originally played by James Dean in a remake of East Of Eden, director Elia Kazan's 1958 drama based on the novel by John Steinbeck.
Pitt has approached Steinbeck’s estate to secure film rights to the saga of two California brothers who compete for the love of their father, reports the New York Daily News.
Dean, who played Cal Trask in the film, was 24 years old when he died in a car crash shortly after the film’s release. Pitt is 39.
