The FBI has begun an investigation in Ireland following sightings of a wanted alleged serial killer in the country.

Irish-American James 'Whitey' Bulger has been listed by the agency as one of America's 10 most wanted men and stands accused of 19 murders.

There have been several reported sightings of Bulger in the Galway area.
