Meath 1-17 Westmeath 0-7

Cian Ward tallied up 1-05 as slow-starting Meath powered past their neighbours Westmeath in today's O'Byrne Cup clash at Páirc Tailteann.

The visitors started strongly and with the likes of Peter Tormey performing well, they led by 0-05 to no score after 15 minutes.

But with Graham Reilly in outstanding form, Eamonn O'Brien's Meath men led by 1-05 to 0-07 at half-time. Ward found the net after good approach work from Stephen Bray.

With Westmeath held scoreless in the second half, Meath impressively booked an O'Byrne Cup quarter-final against Kildare.
