Passengers milestone for Ryanair

Low-fare airline Ryanair broke through the eight million passenger mark last month for the first time, it was announced today.

Low-fare airline Ryanair broke through the eight million passenger mark last month for the first time, it was announced today.

The Irish no-frills airline carried a record 8.1 million passengers in July 2011.

This was 6% up on the July 2010 total of 7.6 million and beat Ryanair’s previous monthly record of 7.8 million set in August 2010.

The budget airline carried 75.9 million passengers in the 12 months ending July 2011.

Its planes flew 89% full in July 2011 compared with a figure of 88% in July 2010.
