A school police officers' union in the US has come under fire for selling T-shirts with the slogan: "U raise 'em, we cage 'em".

A school police officers' union in the US has come under fire for selling T-shirts with the slogan: "U raise 'em, we cage 'em".

Most of the 30 garments created were bought by members of the Twin Rivers Police Officers Association - but community leader Derrell Roberts was less than impressed.

He said: "Unfortunately, this shirt seems to confirm that this is who Twin Rivers Police are and how they think, or at least some of them.

"This doesn't speak highly of the culture of this department."
