A 29-year old man appeared in court in London today charged with murder and five counts of attempted murder.
Jobless Ismail Dogan, of Birkbeck Road, Tottenham, north London, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court charged with murdering Ernest Meads in Advent Way, Edmonton, north London, on Thursday.
He was remanded in custody until January 4 when he will appear at the Old Bailey.
Police said all five injured people were in a stable condition in hospital.
The first attack happened outside Edmonton Green station.
The victim, aged 31, had just said goodbye to his girlfriend and was heading to work. He was stabbed at 8.20am, and staggered up to the station before collapsing on a bench.
At 8.50am a 49-year-old man was stabbed in nearby Gladstone Avenue.
Another victim, a 30-year-old woman, was knifed at 9.07am as she cycled in Compton Crescent.
She later had heart surgery at the London Heart Hospital.
A 50-year-old man was stabbed several times in the side in Ecclesbourne Gardens at 9.11am.
At 9.27am, Mr Meads, 58, was found in Advent Way after he stumbled into the offices of a delivery company. The married father-of-two, from Enfield, north London, later died.
Then, at 10.45am, a 76-year-old man walked into North Middlesex Hospital, having been stabbed more than an hour earlier in Empire Avenue.
