A row broke out at today's multi-party talks in the north even before a meeting began.

Sinn Fein stated they find the absence of David Trimble at the talks for a second week running inexcusable.

However, Reg Empey - replacing Mr Trimble at discussions - told Sinn Fein that the reason was none of their business.

Mr Empey said the Ulster Unionist Party would decide about who would be on their delegation.

The talks in the North are being chaired by the minister for Foreign Affairs and the Northern Secretary Paul Murphy.
