A police officer is recovering this morning after being struck by a stolen car in west Belfast.

A police officer is recovering this morning after being struck by a stolen car in west Belfast.

The PSNI said the man sustained ankle injuries and a possible broken thumb in the incident on Glen Road in the early hours of this morning. Four other officers were also slightly injured.

The stolen car fled the scene and was later found abandoned, but an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of allowing himself to be carried in the vehicle.
