Two Dublin men were charged with IRA membership and firearms offences at a sitting of the Special Criminal Court last night.

Two Dublin men were charged with IRA membership and firearms offences at a sitting of the Special Criminal Court last night.

Sean Farrell, aged 26, of Kilfenora Road, Crumlin was charged with membership of the IRA.

Paul Maye, aged 47, of Bride Road, Dublin 8, was charged with the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition at his home.

The men were arrested following a search of a house in Dublin's south inner city last Thursday.

They have been remanded to appear again before the court on Friday, July 15.
