A court has heard how a convicted brothel keeper - whose business brought in up to €4m a year - deducted money for toiletries from the prostitutes who worked for him.

Martin Morgan, known as "The Beast", served a three year jail term after being convicted in 2008.

Morgan, with addresses in Ballsbridge in Dublin and in London, was also fined €24,000 at the time.

The Director of Public Prosecutions has made an application to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to confiscate assets of over €252,000, a 1996 Jaguar car and cash found on Morgan.
