Sandy Smile set for Curragh test

Michael Halford plans to turn Sandy Smile around quickly after her solid effort at Dundalk last weekend.

After starting slowly and looking green on her racecourse debut, Halford's juvenile got her act together to snatch fourth in the six-furlong maiden and will attempt to build on that in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

"She ran a smashing race at Dundalk when finishing fourth behind Pleasant Bay despite missing the break," said Halford.

"That race will have brought her on a good deal and provided all is well with her, she will turn out again at the weekend."
