A Lufthansa jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport today after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

A Lufthansa jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport today after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

The plane, which was en route from Frankfurt to Dublin, landed safely at around 11.30am.

Emergency fire and rescue teams were on the runway as the flight arrived. All 118 passengers were taken off and no-one was injured.

The jet had been on a regular scheduled service from Germany when airport officials received reports of smoke in the cabin.
